How Elite Protection Consultancy collects, uses and protects personal information, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

Elite Protection Consultancy (“we”, “us”) is a provider of close protection, residential security and executive transport services. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. Our registered address and company number are set out at the end of this page.

The information we collect

We collect information in the following ways.

  • Information you give us through the contact form or by email, such as your name, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in and anything you write in your message.
  • Information you give us during a consultation or an engagement, which may include details of your household, your properties, your travel plans and your security concerns.
  • Technical information that our web hosting provider records automatically when you visit the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you viewed.

The site does not use analytics or advertising cookies. See the cookie policy for details.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss the services you asked about. Lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To plan and deliver security and transport services once you become a client. Lawful basis is performance of a contract.
  • To keep records we are required to keep by law, including for licensing, insurance, tax and accounting purposes. Lawful basis is legal obligation.
  • To protect the site and our systems from misuse. Lawful basis is legitimate interest.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to keep in touch.

Sensitive information

Security planning sometimes involves information about health, family circumstances or specific threats. We collect only what is needed to keep you safe, we keep it to the smallest number of people possible, and we rely on your explicit consent or, where a threat is involved, on the need to protect your vital interests.

Who we share it with

  • Officers and drivers assigned to your engagement, who receive only the information they need for their role and are bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Vetted partner companies, where an engagement takes place outside the areas we cover directly. They are contractually required to protect your information to the same standard.
  • Service providers who help us run the business, such as our web hosting provider, email provider and accountants.
  • Police, regulators or courts, where the law requires it or where it is necessary to protect someone from harm.

International transfers

This website is hosted on servers in the United States. Information you send through the site is stored there under the hosting provider’s standard contractual safeguards. Where an engagement takes place outside the United Kingdom, limited information may be shared with local partners in that country for the purpose of delivering the service.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted after twelve months.
  • Client records are kept for six years after the end of the engagement, to meet our legal and insurance obligations.
  • Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period and then deleted.

How we protect it

Information is stored on password protected systems with access limited to the people who need it. The site uses an encrypted connection. Paper records, where they exist, are kept in locked storage and destroyed securely when no longer required.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to resolve the matter first.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
